Professor of Communication, Kristen Palana will be a featured artist this upcoming March at The 23rd Annual Society for Animation Studies conference, set to be held in Athens, Greece on March 18-20, 2011. This will be a three day conference where selected Hellenic artists will have the chance to show/discuss their work in animation side by side with other distinguished artists gathered in Athens.
Kristen will be giving an oral presentation on animation pre-production best practices as well as a workshop on color theory. Screening at the conference along with other animations will be her 2008 fine art animation “Larry and Roz,” which has already screened in 25 international film and animation festivals and has won five Best Animation awards. Also on exhibit will be stills from her upcoming animation, “Veggie Propaganda,” set to be completed in 2011. “Veggie Propaganda” is a quirky sing-song animation that puts a spotlight on our relationship to animals, their rights, and the benefits of eating less meat.
