Professor Paul Gwynne was one of the main contributors to the glossy handbook of the History of Art entitled “Art: The Whole Story.”
He contributed essays on the Renaissance including analyses of works by Michelangelo (Sistine Ceiling); Leonardo (Mona Lisa) and Raphael (Galatea).
The book has been incredibly successful. It was included among the 20 best Art and History titles of 2010 by The Sunday Times (UK). The first print run of 12,500 in the UK sold out before Christmas and has since been reprinted. The book has been published across the world in English in UK, US, Canada and Australia, with translations in every major European language. Later this year it will be translated into other languages including Chinese and Russian.
