The scholarship from the prestigious Butrint Foundation covers the cost of the archaeological fieldschool at Butrint in Albania in July. Students from AUR will work alongside Albanian students in the field. As Butrint is on the coast there is also a great opportunity for the Albanian and AUR students to mix on the beach, socialise in the evenings and at weekends to go on the trips organised by the field school.
David Samulski sees the field school in Albania as a great opportunity:
I hope to enhance my education with on-site experience. This unique opportunity provides practical training for real work situations through a hands on training method. In participating in this ongoing world heritage project I plan to work hard in taking the next step in the field of archaeology.
