AUR Remembers September 11th

AUR students, faculty and staff assembled in the AUR garden on Monday, September 12, to honor those who lost their lives and those who lost their loved ones in the attacks of the 11th of September 2001, as well as all the victims of terrorism the world over.

Acting President Andrew Thompson remembered “the 2,752 victims and the 10,000 children who were orphaned ten years ago yesterday” and called on the congregation to stand at the national anthem and to join in a minute of silence.

Res Grad Edgar Barrales read out the beautiful September 1, 1939 poem, by W.H. Auden to a moved congregation and the community shared words, memories and prayers on a memorial board placed in the garden.
