On October 21 and 28, AUR is organizing and hosting seminars for future leaders of Rome’s immigrant communities. As a curtainraiser for the event on October 19, we welcome back documentary maker Fred Kuwornu who will present his new film on second generation immigrants in Italy “Ius soli – il diritto di essere italiani”.
As a result of AUR’s conferences and publications on immigration and racism in Rome, the city’s four city councillors representing the foreign community asked the Department of International Relations to prepare a seminar for 24 future leaders of the foreign and second generation communities.
AUR students will take part and there is limited space for the general public.
The four councillors, chair Madisson Godoy Sánchez, Victor Emeka Okeadu, Tetyana Kuzyk and Romulo Salvador Sabio will lead one of the sessions of the second day. The others will be led by representatives of Italy’s Ministry Labour and Social Policy, the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization and International Organization for Migration (first day), the NGO “Nessun luogo è lontano” and AUR’s James Walston and Isabella Clough Marinaro (second day).
