On Oct. 5th, 18:45 – 20:30 in the Auditorium Nora Mckeon presents her book The United Nations and Civil Society: Legitimating Global Governance – Who’s Voice?. She has worked for the FAO and was responsible for their relations with civil society organizations. She now divides her time between research, teaching and activism around food systems, peasant farmer movements and UN-civil society relations.
Her book addresses one of the most important development issues – how the UN and its agencies work with civil society. Mckeon is ideally placed to give some serious answers.
Prof. Pasquale De Muro, who coordinates Roma 3′s Master in Human Development and Food Security and Mario Pianta, professor of political economy at the University of Urbino, will lead the presentation.
