Culture Club
The American University of Rome’s Culture Club is in association with the Arts and Humanities Department. It is a non-exclusive club that aims to invite all students from the university to take part in experiencing the culture provided by AUR’s location. Having not just Rome, but all of Italy and the Mediterranean as an outlet for exploration, the club brings students together while at the same time allowing them to experience places and events that they may not be able to see or attend on their own, all while having fun. The Culture Club visits museum exhibitions and gallery openings throughout Rome, with a major focus on modern and contemporary art. The club is mostly art history focused, but is inclusive of all things cultural. One major event each semester is the café crawl, which ties into specific themes, visiting museums and historical fountains while discovering cafés along the way.
Culture Club takes an annual trip to Perugia for the Eurochocolate Festival. Other events include spring picnics on the Appian Way and a scavenger hunt.
