AUR signs agreement with the Iraqi
Ministry of Higher Education
An agreement between The American University of Rome and the Ministry of Higher Education of Iraq was signed at AUR on October 23 by the Iraqi Cultural Advisor in Rome, Prof. A. M. Taleb and AUR’s Provost, Dr. Richard I. Resch
The purpose of the 4 year agreement is to jointly oversee and benefit from the learning and research activities of Iraqi bachelor’s degree students who will enroll in bachelor’s degree programs at The American University of Rome, and to provide for technical training of administrative and academic staff.

AUR agreed to provide tuition fees, insurance against accidents and third party liability, an Italian language course, internet access, assistance with all administrative procedures regarding enrollment and the attainment of the Italian permesso di soggiorno for up to three new Iraqi students per year.
MHE agreed to act as advisers for those Iraqi students who will apply for the full tuition scholarships and to promote The American University of Rome to additional Iraqi students who might consider enrolling at the University without full tuition scholarships.
Under the agreement housing expenses will be paid for by the Iraqi Government.
