Tuition and Fees for the Academic Year 2008-2009
Tuition and Fees set in EURO only:

FULL TIME TUITION PER SEMESTER

Tuition for New Resident Students

- Full Time (12-18 credit hours) € 6,300.00
- Activity Fee € 80.00
- First Time Registration Fee € 55.00

In order to secure admission, a non refundable deposit of
€ 500.00/$500.00 is required.
The deposit will be credited against the full tuition payment.

Tuition for Returning Resident Students

- Full Time (12-18 credit hours) € 6,300.00
- Activity Fee € 80.00

PART TIME TUITION PER SEMESTER

Tuition for New Resident Students

- Part Time (3 credit hours) per course € 1,575.00
- Activity Fee € 80.00
- First Time Registration Fee € 55.00

Tuition for returning Students

- Part Time (3 credit hours) per course € 1,575.00
- Activity Fee € 80.00

The above tuition fee is calculated based only on one course (3 credit hours).

Other Fees:

- One Credit Hour € 525.00
- Audit Fee ( not credited hour) per course € 850.00
- Graduation Fee € 100.00
- Transcript Fee € 5.00


Fees may be payed in either Euros or Dollars:

In case of wire payment, a photocopy of the transfer fund receipt should be faxed at The American University of Rome to the attention of Finance office in order to receive the payment on time and to ensure the correct credit to your account, please quote the student’s name.Fax no. 0039-0658330992

Please note that foreign bank transfers require at least five (5) working days before payment is actually received.

SCHEDULE OF PAYMENTS
Tuition and fees must be paid to the Finance Office according to the terms and conditions scheduled by the University and available on the website.
Failure to make payments in a timely manner or make satisfactory payment arrangements will be applied a 5% late payment fee and will result in a student being prevented from attending classes.Failure to respect payment arrangement will result in a hold on future enrollment and non-release of grades, transcripts and diploma.
All collection costs incurred through third parties will be added to delinquent accounts.

LATE REGISTRATION FEE
A €100.00 fee will apply to returning students who do not meet the registration deadline.

REFUNDS POLICY
Tuition refunds are permitted when students withdraw from The American University of Rome or when students withdraw from one or more courses and pass from full time status to part time status. Refunds are also available to students who receive financial aid in excessof what is necessary to cover tuition, fees.Tuition refunds are processed according to the schedule published on our catalog. Tuition refunds different from the schedule are not permitted unless the course is cancelled by the University or an error has been made by the University. No refunds will be made on late registartion fees, application and late application fees unless such charges have been made through an error of the University.

In order to receive a refund a student must notify the Registrar's of withdrawal by completing the appropriate form. The date of withdrawal is determined by the date the form is received by the Registrar's office.

To determine the eligibilty for a tuition refund, please consult the catalog. In case of eligibility please download the request form here and hand it over to the Finance Office. Upon receipt of the request the Finance Office will determine your eligibility.

PRIVACY POLICY OF FINANCIAL RECORD
In accordance to The Family Educational Rights and Privacy ACT of 1974 (FERPA) , Non- University individuals ( including parents ) cannot have access to the student’s Financial records, unless authorization from the student is obtain.Students may allow parents or third party to access their financial account by completing a form authorizing the Finance Office to permit non- University individuals to view their Financial record.
