Frequently Asked Questions
Where is AUR located? The main campus is located at Via Pietro Roselli, 4 in Rome. We are situated on the Gianicolo Hill, right below St. Peters and the Vatican and right above the Trastevere quarter of the city. The city is divided in two by the Tiber River – we are on the west bank. See our map for a better idea.
Do I need to speak Italian to attend classes at AUR? Absolutely not! Almost all of out courses are taught in English, the exceptions being our Italian Studies courses. If you do decide to make the effort to try to learn the language, you may find that your time in Rome will be a bit more enjoyable.
Where will I live? That is up to you! The university does have a housing office for the students that wish to use it. All housing provided by the university is conveniently located and/or connected to the campus. If you wish to make your own arrangements, please feel free to do so. As for suggestions on finding an apartment in Rome, we suggest www.wantedinrome.com, www.portaportese.com (in Italian), and www.romepower.com.
Can I transfer to AUR? Of course you can! To graduate with an AUR degree you need to have at least 45 credits earned at AUR. For more information, please see Admissions.
Is Rome expensive? The cost of living in Rome is comparable to that of most European Capitals. While it may seem more costly in some areas (rent, gas, etc ;) some things are still very economical (public transportation, food, etc ;). Look into current prices and see how it works with your budget and situation.
