Pier Matteo Barone is now three-yearly Post-Doc Research Grant as Co-Investigator and Responsible of the Research Unit IGAG-CNR in the FIRB (Future in Research) project 2012: “Marmora Phrygiae”. RBFR121D9W_002. Tasks: Geophysics, Remote Sensing, Applied Geology.
He was also a Temporary Research Fellow in Geophysics at the Physics Department, University of Roma Tre.
His topics are: methodologies of archaeological research, landscape archaeology, geoarchaeology, diagnostic on cultural heritage, geoscience, geophysics and forensics.
He was involved in various archaeological campaign in Italy and in foreign countries; moreover, he has worked in partnership with universities, various research centres and with Italian Police and Carabinieri for applications in methodologies of archaeological research, landscape archaeology, geoarchaeology, geophysics on archaeology, diagnostic on cultural heritage and forensics.
He had participated and presented papers in various national and international conferences, and he has many publications on the above subjects.
