THE AMERICAN UNIVERSITY

in our archives and can be processed with the
help of outside parties. The supplied data will
be used only in relation to recruitment, selection,
personnel management, training (free or paid)
- either in hard copy or electronic form - and
can be communicated. The provided data will be
handled and stored, starting from the receipt
of the curriculum vitae. Consent to data processing
also allows receiving, via email, SMS or phone,
communications regarding opportunities for recruitment,
selection and business information. Any sensitive
data will be immediately deleted by AUR in the
absence of a written consent for the processing
of personal data. It is possible to obtain the
cancellation, the transformation into anonymous
form, the blocking of data processed unlawfully,
the updating, the correction, the integration
of data, or to oppose oneself, for legitimate
reasons, to the processing of personal data by

Administrative
Assistant Part-time needed in the Office of the
Provost
The Provost is the Chief Academic
Officer of the University. He assumes the role
of President (CEO) when the President is off campus.
The Provost is responsible for all academic areas
and support including the Library and Computer
Services.
The successful applicant for
the position of Administrative Assistant to the
Provost will:
- Work within an American University environment,
interacting with the Chief Academic Officer
of the University (Provost), faculty and administrative
personnel;
- Liaise with students and manage student issues
and appointments;
- Schedule and minute meetings of university
academic committees;
- Participate in the organization of orientation
sessions for new students and new faculty;
- Use the University’s Enterprise Resource Planning
system to: input data from the Provost’s Office;
draw down information from the ERP and prepare
reports for the Provost;
- Collect, organize, and present records, documents
and data relating to the work of the Provost’s
Office;
- Manage information and the flow of information
between the Provost’s Office and other university
offices and departments;
- Assist in the coordination of the content
and production of the University catalog;
- Liaise with the public (where appropriate).
Bilingual (English and Italian)
person preferred. If not English mother tongue,
the successful candidate must be able to work
in an English speaking environment. University
degree and at least 2 year of office experience
are required. The successful applicant will be
proficient in the use of most common software
and database systems. Discretion, dependability
and personal interest in the academic world will
be considered assets.
The part-time position is for
20 hrs. per week, until the end of June 2011 (extendable).
