Should all documents be official?
All high school and university transcripts must be official and sent directly from the school.

I don't see a recommendation form on this site to give to my counselor or professor.
The letter of recommendation must be a letter written, sealed and sent by your professor or counselor on letterhead directly to us.  We cannot accept letters of recommendation sent by you.

How soon will I receive a reply regarding admissions?
As soon as your file is complete it is then passed on to the Admissions Committee and reviewed by our team. You are notified shortly thereafter of their decision.

What is the minimum GPA requirement?
Our minimum GPA requirement is 2.5.

What is the minimum combined score for the SAT?
We require a minimum score of 500 for each component of the SAT.

What is the SAT code that I must submit to the College Board?
The SAT code is 0262

What is the ACT code that I must submit to the College Board?
The ACT code is 5392

What is the TOEFL code that I must submit to ETS?
The TOEFL code is 0579.

My high school transcript and diploma are not in English.  What do I do?
You must have your transcripts translated by an official certified translator.  When sent to us, they must be accompanied by official copies in the original language.  We will not accept transcripts that are not in English as well as the original language.  These documents must then be sent by your school to us.

I am a transfer student with 75 credits.  Do I have to submit my high school diploma and transcript?
No, you do not.  You are only required to submit your diploma and high school transcript if you have compiled fewer than 60 university credits.

I am a transfer student with the equivalent of three years of university credits.  Will I be able to graduate in one year?
You must complete at least 45 credit hours at The American University of Rome to receive a degree.

What is the average class size?
Classes at AUR are led by one of our experienced faculty members and are small enough to ensure personal attention for each student. The average class size ratio at AUR is 1:17 which underlines the University’s commitment to active learning and lively classroom discussion.

The priority deadline has passed, can I still apply?
Applications received after the priority deadline are considered based on space availability. A late application fee of €80 or $85 will be applied after the deadlines in lieu of the regular €30 or $35 application fee.  

How do I apply if I want to come for a semester?
If you are interested in doing a semester abroad at AUR, you will be required to apply through one of our affiliate schools.
