Scholarships
The American University of Rome is committed to assisting students whose financial need and academic merit warrant support. The University aims to give every student the opportunity to take advantage of a high quality AUR education and, accordingly, offers several scholarships.
Funds awarded must be applied to tuition expenses. Assistance is awarded for no less than one semester. The value of a single scholarship will not exceed the cost of one year’s tuition.
AUR Scholarship
Applicants who meet the priority application deadline will automatically be considered for an AUR scholarship. Scholarships are renewable until degree requirements are met for a maximum of four years (depending which comes first). Students must maintain a 3.0 grade point average and maintain full time status to retain their scholarship.
The Sons of Italy Foundation
The Sons of Italy offers a scholarship of study at The American University of Rome for U.S. citizens of Italian descent (at least one Italian or Italian American grandparent) who will be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a four-year, accredited academic institution for the Fall of 2008. This scholarship ranges from $5,000 - $25,000.
Applicants must be AUR degree-seeking students.
A non-refundable processing fee of $30 payable to the ‘Sons of Italy Foundation’ is required with this application (only money orders will be accepted).

National Italian American Foundation Scholarship
The National Italian American Foundation offers a maximum of two scholarships for students attending The American University of Rome. Students with a 3.5 GPA can qualify if they are Italian-Americans or studying the Italian language and culture.
Scholarship awards range from $2,500 - $10,000. Applicants are required to submit the following documents by March 1, 2008:
- On-line application.
- Teacher Evaluation form submitted online.
- An official school transcript submitted by mail.
- FAFSA Financial Aid Form (optional) submitted by mail.

AUR DC Scholarship
The American University of Rome has established a fund to encourage a District of Columbia resident to study in Rome, Italy. The scholarship is granted on the basis of scholastic performance and financial need. This scholarship will cover the full cost of tuition and fees, students are responsible for all other fees including housing.
To qualify applicants must:
o Apply and matriculate at The American University of Rome (see Admission Requirements section for a list of application requirements)
o File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with the U.S. Department of Education (www.fafsa.ed.gov), be sure to list The American University of Rome, college code 03102500. Once available a copy of your Student Aid Report (SAR) must be sent to AUR; and,
o Provide proof of residence in the District of Columbia.
