Effective March 4th, 2010, The American University of Rome is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), 3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104. (Tel: 267-284-5000). The Middle States Commission on Higher Education is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

The American University of Rome is licensed by the State of Delaware Department of Education to award Associate and Bachelor’s Degrees.

The American University of Rome is registered as a legal entity with the Rome Tribunal and is authorized to operate in Italy by the Ministry of Universities and Scientific and Technological Research.
