The Teaching and Learning Center
The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) supports faculty in their endeavor to enhance the quality of their instruction and of the student learning experience by providing opportunities for faculty to reflect upon their current practices in light of findings from scholarship and pedagogical research into learning and teaching. The Center offers professional and faculty development opportunities through workshops, faculty development exercises and one-on-one consultations, and provides information to the University community on conferences and other events with a learning/teaching focus, including the integration of technology into the learning environment. The TLC also functions as a vehicle for disseminating and integrating best practice in teaching and learning through the resources it makes available through its web site.
Support for Students
The TLC supports activities in a number of important areas of learning for AUR students. The Center liaises closely with the First Year Program and coordinates the development of English and Mathematics provision within the General Education program, as well as the university-wide workshops on information literacy and information technology. Through its web site the TLC makes available a range of learning resources for students.
