Professional Development for Teachers and Trainers of Italian
This two-week technology, methodology and culture course offers professional development for teachers and trainers of Italian. Composed of 60 academic hours, the course helps participants improve their teaching strategies by illustrating modern approaches to use of the internet in student learning, by introducing them to innovative methods to language and culture instruction, and by presenting them with creative ways to tackle learning problems. Offered every summer.

- Teaching and Learning with Creative Technology: Hotpotatoes, MOO, CAA
- The Web in Experimental Learning: Developing Reading and Writing Skills

- The Internet in Cooperative Instruction:
Blogging and Podcasting in Language Learning and Teaching
- Creating a Didactic Blog
- Computer Managed Learning Environment
- Using Moodle
4.0 graduate credits will be awarded upon successful completion of the course. The course can be taken on pass/fail or letter grade basis
Location:
The seminar will be held in classroom and computer lab facilities at The American University of Rome, an American university operating in Rome since 1969. It is conveniently located on the Janiculum Hill above the Trastevere area and just across the Tiber River from the historic center of Rome. The American University of Rome offers spectacular views over the historic city of Rome and provides a unique setting for your learning experience.
