AUR and Tor Vergata announce alliance
A joint degree in Business is the focus of a Memo of Understanding
4 June 2008: The American University of Rome and the Tor Vergata Università degli Studi di Roma have signed a Memo of Understanding to develop joint degrees in the fields of Management and Economics. AUR President Dr Robert Marino and Dean of the Tor Vergata School of Business and Economics, Dr. Michele Bagella, led the teams that met recently to celebrate the signing of the document (see photo to left). This meeting was the latest in a series of encounters that faculty members from the two schools have had over recent months, to explore the reciprocal benefits of a potential alliance.

The goal of the alliance is to launch a joint degree program (the equivalent of the Italian “laurea triennale” or “laurea di primo livello” and the American bachelor’s degree) by Fall 2009. The working group will develop the curricula as well as enrolment strategies to attract qualified students not only from the US and Italy but also from the EU and elsewhere, who might benefit from a joint Italian-American degree. In addition, the two institutions agreed to cooperate in joint research projects and to promote faculty exchanges.
