AUR Races for the Cure

May 2009: The American University of Rome took part in The Race for the Cure 5k run on May 17th.
Forty-three between colleagues and friends donated money for breast cancer research, raising a total of 455 Euros.
It was a hot but pleasant day. Some participants decided to run the whole 5 kilometers and others took a nice stroll around Rome’s historical center, casually crossing the finish line.
Race for the Cure is the largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world, with well over one million participants since 2005. It raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivorship, and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.
AUR would like to thank all of those who participated and hopes to see them again next year!
