Residence Options Available
The American University of Rome does not possess its own dormitories, residence halls or apartments. Instead, the university facilitates housing arrangements, which are more fully described in the AUR Housing Booklet. Students are free to make their own independent housing arrangements.
Important Notice
••Students who do not wish to contract for a place in University arranged housing are free to make their own housing arrangements. The American University of Rome is not responsible, in any manner, for any private housing arrangements. ••Students should be aware that finding independent accommodation in Rome is not impossible but does require a considerable amount of effort on the part of the student and should plan to arrive in Rome at least 2 weeks before the start of the semester. It is difficult to look for an apartment at the same time as dealing with course registration and getting used to a new environment. ••AUR does not have staff available for translation and negotiation purposes. Students are responsible for making their own arrangements. •• "Homestays" with an Italian family are very rare in Rome.
University Arranged Housing places students in furnished apartments within areas of Rome convenient to the university campus: Trastevere, Monteverde, Colli Portuense and Giancolense. To find out more detail, please see the AUR Housing Booklet. |
