Mission and Goals
Mission:
The Office of Assessment and Institutional Research supports AUR by leading and coordinating outcomes assessment across the University to maintain the highest standards in educational programs and services, promoting continuous improvement in AUR’s effectiveness in enabling students to achieve learning goals, and fostering a broad culture of outcomes assessment. Through its institutional research activity the Office of Assessment and Institutional Research provides appropriate data and analyses to assist in strategic decision-making on planning, resource allocation and institutional renewal across the University.
Goals:
i) To lead and coordinate outcomes assessment across all departments and for AUR as a whole, including the assessment of student learning outcomes and institutional effectiveness;
ii) To carry out institutional research to enable AUR to make strategic and operational decisions driven or informed by rigorous, accurate and timely data and analyses;
iii) Participate in University planning processes, through appropriate committees and other groups, and through the ERP implementation process;
iv) Promote a culture of outcomes assessment within AUR through conferences and workshops and provision of staff development in the area of assessment;
v) Ensure that rigorous and timely data are available to and easily accessible by users across AUR.
